Saturday, April 12, 2014 ~ Rothesay, N.B.
Do you write books or for magazines, newspapers, online or corporate clients—or think about doing this? Do yourself a favour and set aside Saturday April 12 to attend a workshop (9-4:30) with Ann Douglas titled “Surviving Contract and Copyright Minefields 101” at the Amsterdam Inn, Rothesay, NB. You’ll learn how to dissect a contract and how to negotiate a better one.
Douglas is the author of 28 books and numerous magazine articles. Her goal is to inform participants how to make the most of each opportunity by knowing how to negotiate professionally and effectively.
Bonus: there’s a limited number of 15-minute, private consultations with Douglas during the morning (in person or on-line).
The lead on this project is the Professional Writers Association of Canada Southwest New Brunswick Chapter, in association with the Canadian Freelancers Union (Gold sponsor), the Writers Federation of New Brunswick (Silver Sponsor), and the Atlantic Canada Farm Writers Association (Silver Sponsor).
Cost: $99 for all members of sponsoring organizations; $129 for non-members. $25 for 15-minute one-on-one session with Ann Douglas. Remote (on-line) rate for afternoon session: $49 for members; $79 for non-members
